At the Gate we believe that a strong church is a worshiping church. True worship ushers in the presence of God and where God can be found lives will be changed.
And Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty. My years have been few and difficult, and they do not equal the years of the pilgrimage of my fathers.ā€¯
“Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.” Psalm 84:5
How do we live our lives on this earth? Do we say, like Jacob, that we are pilgrims on this earth, strangers in a world that is full of sin? A pilgrim of God sets his sight not on where he is but rather on where he is going. Likewise a true worshiper sets his sights above, to the place that is his home; with God in heaven. Real worship begins when we take a step of faith that is determined to see God’s face.
